Steel - Structural beauty.
2001.
This project was the final step on my graduation as a bachelor in Architecture.
During my studies at my graduation, i was always interested in go deeper in technical knowledge in a way to express my architectural conceptions.
My hometown is land of a great companies of steel and extration and production of iron ore. Under the supervision of the project department of my college and a co-orientation of the leader engineer of Nexem ( Nucleo em exelencia em estruturas metálicas e mistas) i developed this commercial multi-floored building.
The structural conception was composed of 4 main pillars located in the edge of the glass prism building. That´s provides a very flexible floor plan in a way to re-arrange to offices layouts.
The complex is the main tower with 12 floors and a garage park building. All the structures were concepted in steel beams, mixed pillars composed with steel and concrete, pre-fab structured slabs.
The elevator walls is a re-forced concrete structure to helps to establish the whole set.

Educational building - Patio Roof
The upper patio roof.
This video shows a more about the roofing system of the upper patio.
The curved beams are the main structure of it. It´s clamped on the pillars in a very rigid connection to stablish the set. To help that there´s also cross bracing structures.
The covering system is made by a roof of a thermo-acustic aluminum 1mm zipped tiles.
In the crossing axis, there´s a natural ilumination provides by a shed. In addiction, the shed helps the natural ventilation because let the hot air scape by the top.
It´s not shown on this video the suspend ceeling system.

Educational building -Metal pergola
Metal Pergola.
The first look of the metal pergola that covers the main entrace of the building. This is a nice and smooth transition between outside and inside. In addiction, the width is very narrom and will be covered with a high performance glass.
The structure is made by a simple square 15x15cm section steel profile. It´s clamped on the main pillar and there is also some risers attached on the upper slab to stablish the set.

BWM Dealership in Florianópolis - Santa Catarina - Brazil - 2009
For this BMW Dealership the client used a former dealership bulding of another Brand as a base to renovation.
In this post, exactly, i will concentrate the explanation on this side building covered with a glass transparent roof that we developed as repair center for used Bmw Cars.
It´s a simple concept using a Base wall on decorative rocks and a metal structure that emerge from this base.
The metal structure was exposed in layers in a way that the user can read it till the final glass roof layer. This is a simple idea for reading all the elements that compose the unity.
